The Temple
Written by Peter Oswald
Directed by Michael Chase
The Temple is a full length verse drama written by Peter Oswald, inspired by the Temple Legend by Rudolf Steiner, which unites the wisdom of Solomon and the creative power of Hiram, through the love of Balkis, the Queen of Sheba.
The Temple is being performed and produced by the staff and students of Ruskin Mill Educational Trust’s three colleges - Glasshouse, Ruskin Mill and Freeman. This production breathes new life into the legend using the magic of mask and puppetry, eurythmy and song, in a blend of styles and traditions to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Rachel Unthank and the Winterset
The Winterset create a sensationally graceful sound that can be epic and subdued, dreamy and specific as well as supernaturally ancient and defiantly modern. The girls demolish the line between past and present by mingling ancient laments with idiosyncratic songs and go beyond tradition to a magical, Geordie place.
And they’re coming back to Ruskin Mill.

Through the Grapevine
8pm
Roi-Gal Or, Fiona Eadie, Louise Krafchik and Stella Kassimati, from Amari in Crete invite you to relish a weaving together of stories of Crete and of community. Amari is a waning Cretan mountain village – Zeus’ boyhood home. Using the power of stories to transform, ‘Friends of Amari’ are revitalising and invigorating the village whilst retaining the unhurried, traditional nature of village life. At this performance they invite you to share the nurturing, sun-filled stories they’ve heard ‘through the grapevine’.
Greek refreshments will be on sale in the interval.
